What is Employee’s Tax?

Employees’ Tax refers to the tax required to be deducted by an employer from an employee’s remuneration paid or payable. The process of deducting or withholding tax from remuneration as it is earned by an employee is commonly referred to as PAYE.

Application for a tax directive from the South Africa Revenue Service ("SARS") to deduct tax at a pre-determined fixed rate and not the standard tax rate irrespective of the amount actually earned. This application is available for personal service providers and commission earnings whose earnings fluctuate monthly.
